Nearly 20 years after MTV Roadies introduced audiences to Gurbani Judge, better known as Bani J, she has returned to the same franchise in a completely different position.
Bani was the runner-up of Roadies Season 4 in 2006-07.
Now, in October 2026, she is one of the six Gang Leaders on Roadies Rebirth, the 21st season of the reality franchise. The interesting twist is that despite her long Roadies history, the new format places her on the “NewGs” side alongside Abhishek Malhan and Baseer Ali.
That is not her only major 2026 update.
Bani is also part of Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, which released theatrically on October 15, 2026. Meanwhile, Four More Shots Please!, the series that established her as Umang Singh for global streaming audiences, officially ended with its fourth and final season in December 2025.
So Bani’s current career is no longer just about web series.
It now connects reality television, Prime Video, Telugu and Tamil cinema, and one of India’s biggest action-film franchises.

Roadies Rebirth Is Bani J’s Biggest 2026 TV Update
Roadies Rebirth premiered on October 16, 2026.
The new season has changed the traditional Gang Leader structure.
Instead of six completely separate gangs, the leaders are divided into two larger teams.
The OGs are:
Nikhil Chinapa
Neha Dhupia
Prince Narula
The NewGs are:
Bani J
Abhishek Malhan
Baseer Ali
Rannvijay Singha has returned as host.
New episodes are being released on Fridays and Saturdays at 7 pm, with the season available through MTV, JioHotstar and Netflix.
That simultaneous Netflix and JioHotstar release is also new for Roadies.
Why Calling Bani a “NewG” Is Actually Funny
This is probably the best unique angle for the article.
Bani is technically a NewG Gang Leader.
But she is hardly new to Roadies.
She competed on Roadies 4 almost two decades ago and finished behind winner Anthony Yeh. She later returned to the franchise in presenting and hosting roles.
So the 2026 format creates an unusual situation:
Bani is a Roadies veteran competing as a NewG.
India Today’s review of the opening episodes even highlighted Bani as one of the stronger early presences among the NewGs.
For long-time viewers, that makes Roadies Rebirth more than another reality-show appearance.
It is almost a full-circle career moment.
From Roadies Contestant to Gang Leader
Bani first appeared on MTV Roadies Season 4, which ran during 2006-07.
Anthony Yeh won the season and Gurbani Judge finished as runner-up.
She subsequently became closely associated with MTV, appearing as a presenter and returning to Roadies in later seasons.
Her career then expanded into modelling, reality television and acting.
This means Roadies Rebirth is not simply Bani returning as an old contestant for nostalgia.
She is now helping shape contestants’ journeys from the other side of the competition.
The person who once had to survive Roadies tasks is now one of the people deciding how the game is played.
Four More Shots Please Is Still Bani J’s Main Web Series
When people search for a Bani J web series, the clearest answer remains Four More Shots Please!.
Bani plays Umang Singh, a fitness trainer originally from Ludhiana who moves to Mumbai and becomes part of a close group of four women alongside:
Sayani Gupta as Damini
Kirti Kulhari as Anjana
Maanvi Gagroo as Siddhi
Bani J as Umang
IMDb credits Bani as Umang in all 37 episodes released between 2019 and 2025.
The series ran for four seasons:
Season 1 – 2019
Season 2 – 2020
Season 3 – 2022
Season 4 – 2025
Four More Shots Please Season 4 Was the Final Season
One important 2026 update is that Four More Shots Please is finished.
Season 4 premiered on Prime Video on December 19, 2025.
Pritish Nandy Communications officially described it as the fourth and final season.
The final season has seven episodes and again stars Bani J, Sayani Gupta, Kirti Kulhari and Maanvi Gagroo.
So articles suggesting that:
“Four More Shots Please Season 5 may arrive soon”
are currently misleading.
The producers explicitly marketed Season 4 as the conclusion.
There is no officially announced Season 5.
Why Umang Singh Became So Important to Bani J’s Career
Umang was not simply another fitness-oriented character designed around Bani’s existing image.
She is bisexual, comes from a conservative family background and spends much of the series figuring out how to live openly on her own terms.
Bani has spoken repeatedly about the importance of portraying the character without turning her sexuality into a caricature.
In a 2020 interview, she described Umang as a bisexual fitness trainer and discussed the responsibility she felt to play the character honestly.
She later told PTI that more conversations and stories involving different sexual orientations could help normalise LGBTQ+ identities rather than treating them as something strange or comic.
That is what makes Umang a more meaningful role than simply saying Bani played a “bold character.”
Her sexuality is part of the character, but it does not completely define her.
Four More Shots Please Also Changed How People Saw Bani as an Actor
Before Four More Shots Please, Bani was still strongly associated with reality television.
Roadies made her famous.
Bigg Boss made her even more recognisable.
But Umang gave audiences a sustained scripted character to associate with her.
Bani herself said after the show’s International Emmy nomination that she hoped the recognition would lead to people taking her more seriously as an actor.
That career transition matters.
She had acted before Four More Shots Please, but the Prime Video series gave her a role that continued for years instead of one isolated film appearance.
Jailer 2 – Bani J’s Major 2026 Movie
Jailer 2 released in theatres on October 15, 2026.
The Nelson Dilipkumar action thriller brings Rajinikanth back as Muthuvel “Tiger” Pandian and runs approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Bani is part of the supporting cast.
Post-release databases including Plex identify her as one of Roddy’s henchwomen, alongside Apeksha Porwal.
Bollywood Hungama’s current cast listing also credits:
Bani J – Roddy’s henchwomen.
That means the original article is broadly correct that Bani appears in Jailer 2, but the role should not be described as one of the movie’s major leads.
She is part of the film’s large supporting ensemble.
An Interesting Jailer 2 Coincidence
Bani J and Edin Rose are both credited among characters connected with Roddy’s group.
Plex lists:
Gurbani Judge – Roddy’s henchwomen
Apeksha Porwal – Roddy’s henchwomen
Edin Rose – Roddy’s henchwoman
That is useful because actress databases can otherwise make it look as though two performers have accidentally been assigned the same character.
They have not.
The role description refers to multiple members of the same group.
Double iSmart – Bani as Bently
Before Jailer 2, Bani returned to Telugu cinema in Double iSmart.
The 2024 Puri Jagannadh film stars Ram Pothineni as iSmart Shankar and Sanjay Dutt as Big Bull.
IMDb credits Gurbani as Bently.
This is another important correction to actress lists that spell the character “Bentley.”
IMDb’s current cast page uses:
Bently
The movie also stars Kavya Thapar as Jannat Mehrunnisa.
Valimai – Bani J as Sara
One of Bani’s biggest South Indian credits before Double iSmart was Valimai.
The 2022 Tamil action film stars Ajith Kumar as ACP Arjun Kumar, Huma Qureshi as Sophia and Kartikeya Gummakonda as Naren.
Bani plays Sara.
This was her Tamil film debut.
It is also a better example of her move into action-oriented cinema than describing Jailer 2 as the first time she has been associated with that genre.
Thikka – Bani’s Telugu Film Debut
Bani appeared in the 2016 Telugu movie Thikka.
The film stars Sai Dharam Tej and Larissa Bonesi.
Bani plays Kamala.
That makes Thikka her Telugu film debut, years before Double iSmart brought her back into that industry.
Zorawar – Bani as Zoya
The same year, Bani appeared in the Punjabi film Zorawar.
Yo Yo Honey Singh plays the title character, while Parul Gulati plays Jasleen.
Bani plays Zoya.
This is another title worth keeping in a complete Bani J filmography because it shows how early she was already moving between Hindi television and regional cinema.
Ishqeria – One Role That Is Frequently Listed Differently
Bani also appears in the 2018 film Ishqeria alongside Richa Chadha and Neil Nitin Mukesh.
IMDb currently credits her as Miss Banerjee.
Some older databases identify her character as Asha.
Because current sources disagree, I would use IMDb’s present credit:
Miss Banerjee
and avoid presenting Asha as unquestionably correct.
Aap Kaa Surroor Was Her Early Film Appearance
Bani appeared in Aap Kaa Surroor – The Real Luv Story in 2007.
Bollywood Hungama credits Gurbani Judge as Bani, a friend of Hansika Motwani’s character Riaa.
This is important because it means Bani’s film acting history began much earlier than Four More Shots Please.
However, it was a small supporting appearance.
It would be misleading to frame the movie as her major acting breakthrough.
Bigg Boss 10 Was Another Career Turning Point
Bani entered Bigg Boss 10 in 2016.
She reached the finale and finished as the first runner-up behind winner Manveer Gurjar.
That remains one of her most recognizable reality-TV appearances.
But there is an important 2026 streaming correction.
Older articles tell viewers to watch Bigg Boss 10 on Voot or JioCinema.
That information is outdated.
JustWatch currently finds no legal Indian streaming offer for Bigg Boss Season 10.
So I would remove:
“Watch Bigg Boss 10 on JioCinema”
from the current article.
Ladies vs Gentlemen Was Not a Web Series
Bani also appeared on Ladies vs Gentlemen in 2020.
However, it should not be included under scripted web series.
It was an opinion-poll and debate-based digital show hosted by Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza.
Banijay Asia officially lists Bani among Season 1’s panelists alongside Rashami Desai, Karan Kundrra, Karan Wahi, Nia Sharma and others.
The show originally aired through Flipkart Video.
So a more accurate Bani J content guide should separate:
scripted web series
reality television
digital panel shows
movies
instead of calling everything a web series.
Khatron Ke Khiladi 4
Bani also participated in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 4 in 2011.
That season was hosted by Akshay Kumar and eventually won by Aarti Chhabria.
Again, it belongs in her reality-TV history, not her web-series filmography.
Where to Watch Bani J in 2026
Four More Shots Please – All four seasons are on Prime Video. Season 4 officially concluded the story in December 2025.
Roadies Rebirth – Currently streaming on Netflix and JioHotstar, while also airing on MTV.
Jailer 2 – Currently in its theatrical run following its October 15, 2026 release.
Bigg Boss 10 – JustWatch currently does not list a legal streaming provider for Season 10 in India.
Streaming availability for Valimai, Double iSmart, Thikka and her older films can change, so viewers should check current official platform listings before subscribing.
Bani J’s Career Makes More Sense in Four Phases
Phase 1 – Roadies Creates Bani J
Roadies Season 4 introduced Gurbani Judge to Indian audiences.
She did not win.
But finishing as runner-up ultimately mattered less than the personality and identity she built around the show.
Phase 2 – Reality TV Makes Her a Recognisable Celebrity
Hosting, Khatron Ke Khiladi and Bigg Boss kept her connected with unscripted television.
Bigg Boss 10 gave her another major national visibility boost.
Phase 3 – Umang Singh Turns Bani Into a Streaming Actor
Four More Shots Please gave her the role that viewers could follow over four seasons instead of one reality-show season.
The character also moved Bani into conversations around LGBTQ+ representation in Indian streaming entertainment.
Phase 4 – South Cinema and the Roadies Return
Valimai, Double iSmart and Jailer 2 expanded her filmography in South Indian cinema.
Then Roadies Rebirth brought her back to the franchise where everything started.
That is the real 2026 story.

You Should Read This
Bani J’s 2026 career has one unusually satisfying circle in it.
Roadies created Bani.
Four More Shots Please reinvented her.
And Roadies has now brought her back.
When she first appeared on the show in 2006, she was a contestant trying to survive eliminations and eventually finished runner-up.
Twenty years later, contestants are entering Roadies with Bani sitting on the Gang Leader side.
The funny part is that the show’s OG vs NewG structure still labels her a NewG.
Her scripted career tells a similar story of gradual change.
A small role in Aap Kaa Surroor became regional films such as Zorawar and Thikka.
Reality television led into Four More Shots Please.
Umang Singh gave her four seasons of one character.
Valimai and Double iSmart brought her deeper into South Indian cinema.
And Jailer 2 has now placed her inside a Rajinikanth blockbuster.
So the best description of Bani J in 2026 is probably not “reality star” or “web-series actress.”
She has spent two decades refusing to remain only one of those things.
